Information Architect

Net Dynasty is a small but rapidly growing design firm that services clients throughout the U.S. Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota Net Dynasty is searching for talented and highly motivated project managers to join its fast-paced creative environment.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the Information Architect (IA) is to meet the business objectives of our clients by applying research and user-experience best practices to organize information in ways that are meaningful and intuitive. The IA is critical to the success of each interactive project. Success requires thorough understanding of Web strategy, functionality, usability, information architecture and user experience. 

The IA MUST be a team player who is able to collaborate with all internal teams to create and maintain site architecture via logic flow diagrams, site flow diagrams, site maps, content models, wireframes and related deliverables. The IA reports to the Director of User Experience.

The IA conducts and writes competitive analyses, creates detailed sitemap and wireframe documents, and works with the Design and Development teams to insure the project vision is carried through. The ability to understand and communicate complex user interfaces and detailed information requirements is essential. The ability to manage usability testing projects is not required, but considered an added value.

The IA uses various research methods to understand customer needs, business needs, and brand-related design issues, and uses these findings to create documentation that satisfy all three. This person is able to work in a collaborative, agile fashion and incorporate incremental improvements into architecture throughout project evolution.

  • Manage project definition, establish and fulfill key success indicators, track milestones across projects, manage work and budget breakdowns, manage approval processes and ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
  • Effectively communicate with existing and prospective clients through the telephone, email, meetings and a limited amount of travel.
  • Enthusiastically work with our team to delegate tasks needed for project completion.
  • Oversee and liaise with project stakeholders to make necessary modifications. - Draft functional requirements and tests plans for projects. - Escalate issues to clients and management when necessary.
  • Manage financial performance of projects by ensuring team members adhere to budgets.
  • Proactively identify changes in scope and ensure appropriate planning measures are taken with clients to reassess, renegotiate, and amend scope of work responsibilities, proposals, contracts and budgets.
  • Oversee the development of relevant project proposals and budgets for submission to clients.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain business relationships.
  • Regularly report status and progress of projects to clients and management.
  • Identify potential risks which can hinder progress of project and implement steps to mitigate them.
  • Develop and execute ways to increase productivity of business processes.
  • Perform any other related duties incidental to work described above.

Accountabilities/duties:

  • Ability to assess client competitors and write/compose comprehensive analyses and recommendations for clients
  • Help define and articulate business requirements and user goals
  • Create detailed sitemaps, wireframes, and related documentation that define solutions to addresses the business, user, and functional requirements for the project
  • Approach problem solving from a customer or user-centered point of view
  • Work closely with the Design and Development teams to translate IA documentation into completed applications

Qualifications:

  • web project management or information architecture experience
  • College degree preferred. Not required.
  • PMI certification a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Some evening and weekend work may be required if dictated by project deadlines.
  • Some work with smaller clients may be periodically required.
  • Travel could be up to 10%.
